Onkologie

Science creates knowledge. Knowledge improves treatment options. Better treatment options improve the quality of life and lifespan of our patients. That is why intensive research is a key activity in our division. Through research and scientific exchange, we guarantee that our patients have access to state-of-the-art therapeutic options.

Oncology research encompasses basic research projects, translational investigations, clinical trials and research in the field of cancer diagnostics.

    CD Labor

CD Laboratory for Activation of Immunogenic Cell Death in Lung Cancer

Despite major advances in personalized medicine, lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide and thus poses a major medical challenge. In light of the urgent need for innovative therapeutic approaches, a new Christian Doppler Laboratory has been established at the Medical University of Graz, dedicated to developing novel therapies for lung cancer.

    Clinical trials

Our division regularly tests new medical procedures in clinical investigations. By participating in clinical trials, our patients have the privilege of receiving the latest therapeutic procedures that are otherwise unavailable.

This is how we are able to obtain new insights into therapeutic options and apply this knowledge to treat patients in the future. All clinical trials that are offered are subject to audited approval and quality assurance procedures, for example by the Med Uni Graz Ethics Committee.
